Upskilling Workers And Social Impact

From linkedin.com/in/thepraveen0207

On 2023-08-24, I shared a shortened LinkedIn link, https://lnkd.in/gaaKecFg, with the hashtags #awign and #impact. I do not have the linked-page content or enough information to establish who authored it or what it said.

On 2024-04-17, I presented WorkYogi’s Upskill India as an expansion beyond matching people with organizations. WorkYogi said it had spent 8 years matching gigs, experts, and talents, but argued that matchmaking alone was not enough to address unemployment challenges in India. The initiative aimed to provide upskilling and reskilling programs that equip people with knowledge, skills, and confidence for the job market, while serving job seekers, professionals seeking to improve their skills, and organizations seeking talent. I directed people to workyogi.co; the post did not specify programs, costs, eligibility, or how employment outcomes would be measured.

On 2025-10-01 at 21:47 UTC, I shared a personal reflection about Harshil Pansare, Awign’s Engineering Manager. I described him as an energetic young leader whose habits might make him seem like a recent graduate or a GenZ eager to try everything, while his life experiences had helped him mature faster than most. His path to engineering management was not a straight line or simply the result of Awign or my influence: it reflected his drive, choices, and varied experiences. He started at Awign as a young developer, grew quickly, left for some of the best places, and eventually returned with greater maturity and perspective. I said he could operate as a one-man army and lead a team as a manager when needed.

I reflected that Awign’s HR services for clients across industries had also helped millions of workers across India earn their livelihood. Although we had misses, I said we deeply valued the social impact we made. Nurturing someone into becoming exceptional at their work brought additional satisfaction. I framed the post as sharing what felt real rather than trying to be an influencer, and expressed a wish to continue the journey and get better every day. I closed with a joke that Harshil had more cracks in his bones than bones in his body.

On 2024-12-11, I promoted Series 2 of Awign’s Tech Foundation Training & Internship Program for people interested in frontend, backend, QA, or tech support. The one-month program included hands-on training, real-world assignments, guidance from Awign tech leaders, 1–2 hours of weekday training, and full-day tasks and group projects; applicants needed passion and a personal laptop. The post described a three-month internship in Bangalore with a ₹15k monthly stipend, followed by a placement opportunity at ₹25k–30k per month, including QA Engineer and Tech Support Engineer roles. It also described the possibility of continuing full-time and aiming for promotion to SDE-1 after six months. The program was scheduled to start January 6, 2025, and applications were due December 23, 2024. Placement and promotion were presented as opportunities, not guarantees.

On 2025-01-04, I followed up for Awign Tech Foundation applicants who had applied but not received the test email. I shared a question document at https://lnkd.in/gJyrFcHs and an answer submission form at https://lnkd.in/gYCP-QyX, with a test-submission deadline of January 5th, 2025 at 12:00 PM. I encouraged applicants to use the links to submit and gain tech skills and internship experience, and asked readers to share the opportunity. The post did not specify the deadline’s time zone.
