On 28 May 2025 I delivered my graduation speech to the DAIS class of 2025. I spoke candidly about my unconventional path – dropping out at 15, selling phones, working night shifts in a call‑centre, and then spending my free mornings learning the stock market – and how those early choices shaped the 21 years I’ve spent as a trader and investor.
- Lesson 1: “hard work is not that important.”
I stress surrounding yourself with driven, grounded people with strong values – the kind of network that fuels both personal growth and business success. For more context on my background see my personal story.
- Lesson 2: “most of life is gray… making peace with living alongside it.”
- Lesson 3: anxiety can be good.
- Lesson 4: changing your mind is not hypocrisy.
- Lesson 5: ambition is fun but not the sole metric of life.
- Lesson 6: gratitude – I’m grateful for close people and my two Labradors.
