I am building Akemi alongside my agency work, and my posts describe both plans to scale the venture and a shift toward spending more of my time on my own Shopify stores.
On February 18, 2026, I announced that Akemi Agent was going live that day, writing, “It’s gonna be a good day.” I pointed to “there on my right” and shared https://t.co/Lfbs21YFdg, but the capture does not clarify what “there on my right” referred to or provide further launch details.
On December 1, 2024, I planned to make “100 or so” more items like the current one while continuing to scale it; I did not specify what the items or “this one” were.
I said my agency-life experience had trained me for the chaos I expected to ensue. The post did not describe that chaos or explain what I was scaling.
On December 9, 2024, I said my Shopify store portfolio was doing well. I planned to spend a lot more time on the stores than on the agency the following year, while continuing to train the agency team; I gave no reason for the shift or measurable definition of “doing well.”
I invited people looking to scale a business with paid ads to https://t.co/O4epYcgZ87 and https://t.co/61VDSytqGf, without explaining what services or pages those links led to.
On December 10, 2024, I said some of my personal Shopify stores had grown 100x in a matter of months that year.
I said the agency had achieved “clean 10x’s” for clients through media buying that year, while noting that the agency controlled only that side of clients’ businesses.
I viewed media buying as important but only one aspect of a client’s business, and said the agency lacked full control. I considered full-stack agency work too complex to be worth it, so my thought was that if we were going to do full-stack work, we might as well launch an internal project instead; that was what we were doing. I said I might change my mind someday, but was happy with how things were going and with having figured this out.
On January 8, 2025, I wrote “Akemi to the Moon in 2025.” I did not explain what Akemi referred to or what “to the Moon” meant, and did not state a specific plan or outcome.
