I have reacted with excitement to AI companies and large funding announcements, and I have also entertained AI as a possible direction for a struggling ecommerce business. On November 24, 2025, I wrote, “Hyped for this one. SSI is such an interesting company.” The post quoted @dwarkesh_sp, whose quoted post said “Tomorrow” and included a link; the capture does not identify what “this one” or the announcement or event referred to.
On April 15, 2026, I suggested that if an ecommerce store fails, it could be pivoted into an AI GPU company. This was a conditional suggestion, not a report that I had made such a pivot. The post quoted @KobeissiLetter, which said Allbirds stock ($BIRD) surged over +200% after the company announced a pivot from shoes to AI; the captured post does not explain Allbirds’ reasons or what its pivot involved.
On June 25, 2026, I reacted to news about Mirendil with “$200M seed round huh” and “Wild stuff.” @a16z said it was thrilled to lead Mirendil’s $200M seed round; the funding figure and the product description came from @a16z, not from an independent assessment by me.
In the captured portion of @a16z’s post, Mirendil was described as training frontier models expert at AI R&D and building a product around them. @a16z said the system autonomously loops over research and engineering problems, makes progress without human intervention, and controls its own GPUs, comparing it to a coding agent built for AI research. The post is truncated after beginning a further claim about Mirendil being one of the few teams, so the remainder and supporting evidence are unavailable here.
