On 8 October 2026 I posted two X notes. The first gave a brief market snapshot, stating “Tough markets, now down 2% today.” I listed macro drivers – crude oil, the dollar and higher US bond yields – and reiterated that I remain long‑term bullish but offered no specific investment recommendation. The second note was a reply to @anujdeshpandey, invoking Soichiro Honda’s opposition to protectionism, defending open technology access (e.g. a kid using Starlink), and dismissing security‑based restrictions as ineffective.
Market decline: down 2% today (as of 2026‑10‑08 09:37 UTC).
No recommendations were given in the post.
Soichiro Honda famously opposed protectionism and welcomed hardship through international competition.
Security argument has no merit because putting your head in the sand doesn’t stop others from having access to that same tech.
Competition would be awesome there but no.
