Surrounding Yourself With Ambitious People

From x.com/ariesnotebook

I believe the people I spend time with shape my development, and that choosing smart, talented peers is one of the best life hacks. I also see building a strong team as worthwhile, even when it takes a long time. This connects with my views on hiring and small elite teams beat headcount.

On November 5, 2024, I recommended surrounding myself with smart people, calling it one of the best life hacks. I did not define what makes someone smart or explain how to find those people.

On November 9, 2024, I wrote that who I surround myself with matters. I warned that constantly spending time with people who do not bring out the best in me is bad news, but emphasized that I am not trapped in my current circle: every day is an opportunity to meet new people, including online. I did not specify how to identify those who bring out my best or how to meet them.

On November 9, 2024, I reflected that most problems in business are people problems, and that great businesses are groups of the most talented people. I did not describe a particular business or a method for assembling such a group.

On March 19, 2025, I said building a solid crew had taken a long time and had been absolutely worth it. I ended with an upbeat “To the moon we go!” but did not specify what the crew does or what that aspiration refers to.

On April 21, 2025, I wrote that it feels great to have friendships with people who are “giga smart” and making big moves, especially when those friendships develop naturally. I see these friendships as another benefit of putting myself out there, and I encouraged people not to be scared.
