Ecommerce Market Growth

From x.com/ariesnotebook

I have expressed optimism about ecommerce’s growth, while the posts I captured do not provide evidence or a timeframe for my broad impressions.

On November 22, 2024, I wrote, “Ecommerce is booming.” The capture gives no evidence or timeframe for the claim.

On December 21, 2024, I wrote, “I’m so bullish on ecom.” I did not explain what prompted my optimism.

On September 19, 2025, I replied “Higher.” to a post from @drewfallon12, who claimed preliminary ecommerce sales as a percentage of retail had passed COVID highs for the first time ever. That was @drewfallon12’s claim; my reaction does not independently verify it, and the capture provides no supporting figures.

A post captured on September 20, 2025, said ecommerce was set to reach $8 trillion by 2027 and would exceed the GDP of every country except the US and China. The capture provides no source or methodology for the projection or comparison, so I cannot verify either claim.

On September 20, 2025, I quoted @ariesnotebook’s projection that ecommerce was set to reach $8 trillion by 2027, bigger than the GDP of every country except the US and China. I did not independently verify that projection or comparison.

In that same post, I said the claim also showed how large the US and China markets are and how many emerging-market opportunities there are. I predicted, “We’re going so much higher,” without specifying what “we” meant or giving a target. This was an expression of optimism, not a quantified forecast of my own.

On October 18, 2026, I suggested growing ecommerce penetration may help explain why buying in person makes less sense to me. I pointed to Amazon sending same-day drones and Shopify brands running highly engaging ads, and said buying “IRL” makes little sense except for essentials or Bloom drinks. I also hoped that “they” were okay, without specifying who I meant or what had happened.
