I shared a detailed go‑bag plan on X on 2026‑10‑15, linking a starter Amazon list and tying physical preparedness to digital security practices for extended grid outages.
I’m in the AI camp where I think you need a go-bag.
- dry wool socks
This plus Starlink. https://t.co/My77I613qW
(I also think you should opt out of model training, stop buying unnecessary smart items, put your IoT devices on another wifi network, and turn on 2FA or MFA for everything, but we can talk about that another time.)
People with subscriptions: assume 40% of your paying inactives disappear within 2 years.
I recommend planning for outages of 1–2 weeks, possibly up to 4 weeks, and to continuously update the list as new items like Oboz shoes become available.
- high‑cal food
- water packets
- 2 L collapsible water pack
- water filter
- clip‑to‑bag sanitizer
- (potential) Oboz shoes (availability‑dependent)
