# Overcharge Payments

It appears to us as a discount on the next ride, but is it really a discount?

I noticed that when Uber overcharges me, I pay that extra amount with real money, through UPI or cash.

Overcharge payment method: real money, through UPI or cash.

When they acknowledge and refund it, the money often comes back as Uber Balance.

Refund method: Uber Balance.

Now that money can only be used for another Uber trip.

Uber Balance usage restriction: only be used for another Uber trip.
