# Learning Apis Through Hackathons

I went from being rejected after honestly saying I had no API experience to considering APIs for an image workflow in a Meta Hackathon submission. The proposed hybrid setup is not confirmed, and I have not reported a hackathon ruling or a completed workflow.

In June this year, a recruiter had asked if I had worked with APIs.

I had been honest and said no, and was rejected for not being technical enough.

4 months later, I'm asking Meta Hackathon team if a submission can use Meta SAM API for image segmentation and OpenAI or Gemini API for image reconstruction?

Muse Image isn’t available in India; considering a hybrid setup with Meta still powering a core part of the workflow. The proposed workflow uses Meta SAM API for image segmentation and OpenAI or Gemini API for image reconstruction.

I have asked the Meta Hackathon team whether this combination is permitted; no answer is included, and I have not said whether I will proceed or which reconstruction API I will choose.

I am asking the @Meta hackathon team whether I can use Meta SAM for segmentation and @OpenAI for image reconstruction.

I am asking about this tool combination because @Muse Image isn't available in India.
