I reflected on the emotional dynamics that surface when I buy an expensive phone for my parents, a purchase that costs more than how much they used to earn.

I observed: They feel guilty for accepting it.

I observed: Sometime they scold us for doing it.

I observed: We feel proud of doing it.

I observed: And we feel anger towards them for rejecting it.

I observed: Spending on yourself is a difficult habit to build.

I observed: Our parents never had the luxury.

I recommend: So give them the time to learn.
