I have found getting an internship harder than any single project I have worked on. I am trying to understand what helps an application make it through the hiring process.
Over the last few months, I have sent close to a hundred internship applications.
The roles that reply have asked for 3 years of experience for a 3-month role.
Most applications do not result in a rejection; they just vanish. Even when I seem like a strong fit on paper, I worry that the application pipeline filters me out before a person sees it. I asked people hiring interns what gets an application through, but the captured post does not include any answers.
