I created the gen‑ai‑hackthon repository on my GitHub. It is a Python 3.13 project that implements a Mental Wellness Assistant with a mini‑game, built with Streamlit and using local JSON files for persistence.
Repository name: gen‑ai‑hackthon
Owner: @tanujaratan
Started: 2025‑09
Last updated: 2025‑09
Programming language: Python 3.13
Frontend framework: Streamlit
Data storage: local JSON files
AI integration: OpenAI API
The app lets users log their mood, view Matplotlib visualizations, chat with an AI assistant, play a relaxation mini‑game, receive jokes, exercises, and helpline numbers. For setup I clone the repo, install Streamlit, Pandas, Matplotlib, and OpenAI, then run streamlit run app.py.
I chose Streamlit for rapid UI development, local JSON for simple, dependency‑free persistence, and the OpenAI API to provide AI‑driven chat assistance. The mini‑game was added to boost user engagement and relaxation.
