# Why Hydration Needs Measurement

I built a hydration‑tracking prototype and shared it at https://t.co/kBrgWhwYZm on 2026-07-24 08:34 UTC.

I argue that hydration must be measured because, like sleep, precise tracking drives improvement, and current solutions like Owala are outdated.

The statistic that 75% of the world is STILL CHRONICALLY DEHYDRATED underscores the scale of the problem.

Equivalently, 3 in 4 people are chronically dehydrated, which is an alarming prevalence.

I dismiss Owala as “so out” and advocate for a WHOOP‑style hydration tracker that applies the mantra “what gets measured gets improved”.
