I posted a series of daily LinkedIn notes from October 1‑9 2026, reflecting on product‑management themes such as AI performative use, hiring language shifts, intrinsic motivators, skill‑ceiling misconceptions, and career‑regret sources, while curating a handful of external resources.

> It was nothing short of transformational! I cannot stress that enough.

> Product Managers who’ve historically viewed their role as “my main job is to execute” are finding it way harder to get hired at top companies than those who’ve viewed their role as “my main job is to make the product successful”.

> Mastery enables this in 3 ways:
> The work becomes the direct target of your effort. You do it for its own sake. Which means more presence, less resistance, more equanimity with things outside your control.

- AI Performative Use: teams act like they use AI but no one calls it out.
- Decision: Emphasize “product success” framing in PM interviews – because hiring data shows it improves interview outcomes.
- Decision: Prioritize mastery as a motivator – it sustains presence and reduces energy drain.
- Decision: Re‑evaluate upskilling purpose – treat it as a lever for current job effectiveness.
- Decision: Educate on LinkedIn Envy & Impact Lie – to combat regret patterns.
- Decision: Use the 23‑question playlist as a mentorship tool – it offers concise answers to frequent PM queries.
- Hiring Shift: framing interviews around “product success” now lands more offers than “execution”.
- Motivation: impact, role‑enabling life domains, and mastery (the latter works via direct effort, ease, and gamified self‑judgment).
- Bias Warning: loving product building heightens the risk of blind spots.
- Skill‑Ceiling Myths: mid‑career PMs underestimate their ceiling and treat upskilling as future‑only.
- Career Regret: “LinkedIn Envy” and the “Impact Lie” drive regret; awareness mitigates them.
- Resources: reverse‑interview video (Oct 5), private 23‑question playlist (Oct 2), Marty Cagan talk clip (Oct 2), Robby Stein quote (Oct 1), transformational testimonial (Oct 6).
