I first sketched the idea of persuasive programmable units (PPUs) in a series of X posts on 2026‑10‑15, outlining how agents could create programmable ads for each other.

Humans created ads to persuade humans.

Agents will create _____ to persuade fellow agents.

This ______ will be the new ad / persuasive unit.

It would be a programmable unit - with some combo of 'i will share A or B value with you if you transact with me' or 'here is why this data store is conclusive proof that transacting with me is cheaper / better / faster than transacting with my competitor'.

This PPU - persuasive programmable unit - is likely getting built somewhere.

I coined the term **PPU – persuasive programmable unit** to describe a new class of AI‑to‑AI persuasive artifacts that function like programmable ads. Unlike traditional ads that target humans, PPUs are designed for autonomous agents to influence each other's transaction decisions.
