I started the SignVision project in July 2026 and kept it up‑to‑date through November 2026. The system runs entirely in the browser using a three‑worker architecture (vision, compositing, ASL inference) and adapts its performance tier to the device’s battery and compute resources. I chose full‑browser inference for privacy and to avoid backend costs, trained a custom EfficientNetB0 model from scratch, and applied One Euro filtering plus a five‑frame consistency rule to smooth output.
