In early October 2026 I shared a series of X posts covering Vercel’s architecture decisions, performance metrics, new tooling, and security initiatives. These updates complement the broader AI agent ecosystem described in the October 2026 ecosystem overview.
Class strings are stored once in a global hash table, and the parsed class list is cached per unique string, so every button points at one shared copy.
And compression (brotli etc) effectively does the same.
Your agents can now escalate uncertain decisions to a fallback model.
AI Gateway reruns the decision on a fallback model when the primary model's confidence drops below your threshold. Available in beta.
Our global TLS stack (50K TLS handshakes per second).
Our build outputs cache is serving 250K RPS right now.
Evaluating 600K events per second with new stream processing system.
Issuing 10K actions (blocks / challenges / shadow test).
Launch up to 23× faster.
Shell calls up to 8.6× faster.
Exits up to 44× faster.
We’ve confirmed a KVM 0day through our Vercel Sandbox bounty program.
Decisions: I chose global string deduplication to cut memory and bandwidth, introduced a confidence‑threshold fallback in the AI Gateway for reliability, launched the gdp‑ts library to enforce compile‑time proofs for sensitive APIs, kept Go for most core services because of its scalability and simplicity, and invested in sandbox hardening after the KVM 0‑day discovery.
