I noted that the Airbus A320 weighs around 48000 kg.

I was surprised by that figure and plan to verify which specific weight metric it represents (empty weight, MTOW, etc.).

Open question: Which specific weight metric (empty weight, MTOW, maximum landing weight) does the 48000 kg refer to?
