I suggested creating new rankings of Indian B‑schools and tech schools based on the number of startups they have produced.
The rankings should consider operational longevity of those startups: at least 1 year, 3 years, and 5 years, and could also be broken down industry‑wise.
- Data collection: compile lists of startups founded by alumni of each B‑school and tech school in India.
- Open question: What data sources will be reliable for verifying startup longevity?
- Open question: How should joint‑ventures or acquired startups be treated?
- Open question: Should the rankings weight startup size, funding, or impact?
- Open question: What timeline and resources are needed to produce the first edition of these rankings?
- Verification: confirm operational status and age of each startup (≥ 1 yr, ≥ 3 yr, ≥ 5 yr).
- Classification: assign each startup to an industry sector (fintech, healthtech, edtech, etc.).
- Aggregation: count qualifying startups per institution overall and per industry.
- Ranking: order institutions descending by count for each longevity tier and industry slice.
