Keeping Ai Grounded In Real Data

From linkedin.com/in/puneetjindalisb

Synthetic data as per TechCrunch, fake data that has been created by #ml algorithms rather than using real world info.

I realize that as synthetic content proliferates, the future success of AI products hinges on detecting fake data and removing it from training pipelines, or at least teaching models to recognise it as fake. I therefore adopt Human‑in‑the‑Loop (HITL) evaluation as a core component of AI verification pipelines.

I have adopted HITL evaluation as a core component of AI verification pipelines.

I prioritize development of synthetic‑content detection tools to cleanse training data before model updates.

Google Search AI Transformers doesn't know whether this really happened.

Take this example when someone searches Tank Man, it shows up in Google search results but it never happened!

I reflected on the strategic trade‑off between synthetic simulation and the massive, free pool of human video data on the internet for training embodied AI.

I noted that acquiring synthetic simulation data costs "Millions" of dollars.

I highlighted that human video has a "Zero Acquisition Cost" because YouTube already provides billions of hours of footage.

I argued that human video captures the "messiness" of reality – steam, running kids, cluttered counters – that synthetic data often misses.
