# X Posts October 2019

In late October 2019 I posted a rapid stream of X updates covering Bitcoin price swings, China’s crypto policy flip‑flop, a public security tip about Apple ID passwords, frustrations with fintech data leaks, a harsh take on Airbnb’s buggy app, and a series of quoted influencers. I repeatedly stressed that I’m “in it for the technology” rather than chasing price headlines.

I emphasized that my focus is on technology, not Bitcoin price hype. “4/5 Hot stories on @Cointelegraph are $BTC price. But we're in it for the technology.”

I noted China’s crypto stance has moved from a ban to an endorsement, calling it a cyclical trend: “I remember two years back when China ban was a big thing. Now China endorsement is a big thing. This too shall pass.”

I shared a security tip: “Try resetting your @Apple id password and use your Facebook password or Gmail or whatever. You'll be shocked.” (kept as prose because the quoted phrase is not my exact wording).

I observed that $BTC dumps because it wants to dump: “Over the years, I've realized that $BTC dumps because it wants to dump. Then we postmortem for reasons.”

I warned about third‑party fintech data leakage: “Trusting a third party. Be it UPI, Google, or the RBI. This is what happens.”

My card was blocked for an international transaction, and unblocking required an SMS I could not receive: “.@SBICard_Connect blocked my card for intl. transaction. Only way to unblock is SMS. But I don't have my SIM.”

I called out Airbnb’s app as “really crappy buggy” and predicted disruption due to limited network‑effect advantage: “Airbnb has a really crappy buggy app, no support for customers or hosts and is awaiting to be disrupted because network effects can only provide competitive advantage for so long.”

I critiqued inflationary money creation: “Inflation should take into account the new money being printed.”
