Delulu – many people think TGEing is easy money and start raising/preparing to launch tokens.
I noticed a wave of misconceptions around token generation events (TGEs) that treat them as easy money, leading founders to launch tokens without solid fundamentals or a clear market need.
Common myths: (1) TGEs are a quick cash grab; (2) you can stick a token onto a failing product to save it; (3) a rising market automatically lifts every token.
The reality is harsher: creating a token may feel easy, but "it is going to be much harder than anything else" and will "take everything you got and more".
Launching and running a token requires specialised knowledge.
Token creation is much harder than anything else.
Advisors and investors sometimes push founders to TGE even when they know the company may become "dead post‑TGE".
I decided not to rush a TGE unless the project has a distinct utility and a identified market demand, to avoid founder trauma from token dumps.
I also decided to invest in specialised token expertise (smart‑contract development, compliance, tokenomics) before launch.
