# Taxes And Wealth Inequality

On 2024-01-05, I argued that wage growth staying above asset-price inflation is the only organic leveller of income inequality. I was unsure how much to read into the table I referenced, which is not included in the captured post.

I suggested that equalizing wealth would not prevent inequality from returning: people would work different amounts, and competition would create inequality again. The key might be limiting the magnitude of inequality rather than trying to fix inequality altogether.

I also considered inheritance tax a good idea, arguing that it does not discourage entrepreneurs in the way some income taxes do or increase the cost of doing business through indirect taxes. I credited @Investywise and @insight_scoop as research sources; the post gives no evidence or policy details for these claims.
