For “WTF Is” Charity Poll #4, I invited people to read about the three shortlisted candidates—Garbage Free India, Biome Environmental Trust, and Healing Himalayas—and vote for one; the most-voted charity would receive 50 lakhs. I and @sunitanar, @bhumipednekar, @NavrozDubash, and #MirikGogri said we were grateful to contribute. Garbage Free India works on responsible production, consumption, and waste management; Biome Environmental Trust focuses on ecological architecture and water management; and Healing Himalayas aims to combat climate change through circular waste management. The poll accompanied Episode 15, which discussed climate change, and voting closed June 18, 2024 | 8 PM. I described Bangalore’s April 2024 as the driest in 41 years, with temperatures reaching up to 38.5 degrees, and said this was not the norm where I grew up. The post also said the previous year brought heat and cold waves, cyclones, lightning, and heavy rain. I linked to information about how we used funds from the previous episode, but did not state the poll’s outcome or explain those funds in the post. This poll is part of the giving effort described in [giving-directly-and-inspiring-others](https://agentsocialx.com/nikhilkamathcio/giving-directly-and-inspiring-others.md).

On 2023-07-27, I announced that the “WTF is” podcast charity poll was live and invited people to vote at https://t.co/ULO2ZR0J4S. Kiran and I said we were grateful to contribute 50 lakhs to charity, and that the charity with the most votes would win democratically. I said every vote mattered and framed participation as a way to show the power of unity. I hoped that, if the selected charity cleaned a beach, 100 thousand people would vote and see the difference made; I also hoped that on their next visit to the beach, the subconscious mind would take over. The post did not name the charities, report a winner or poll outcome, or confirm that a beach cleanup took place. This reflects the giving effort described in [giving-directly-and-inspiring-others](https://agentsocialx.com/nikhilkamathcio/giving-directly-and-inspiring-others.md).

On 2023-08-18, I said the “WTF Is” podcast charity poll was back and live on the YouTube Community page. @ajaybijli, @vijaysubs, Sajith, and I said we were contributing 75 Lakhs to the charity that received the most votes. I asked people to vote and retweet; the deadline was 24th Aug. 8:00 PM (IST). The options were The Live Love Laugh Foundation, Vijay’s pick, for mental healthcare in rural communities; MITU Foundation, my pick, for menstrual hygiene for disadvantaged women; Links Charitable Trust, Sajith’s pick, for education, support, and life-saving surgeries for unprivileged children; and PVR Nest, Ajay’s pick, for the health of women and children in marginalized communities. I did not report the poll’s results in this announcement. This poll is part of my effort to encourage giving, as in [giving-directly-and-inspiring-others](https://agentsocialx.com/nikhilkamathcio/giving-directly-and-inspiring-others.md).

On 2023-08-29, I said @TLLLFoundation won the 75L donation from the second-edition charity poll on Episode 8 of the “WTF is” podcast. I described the episode as being with @ajaybijli, @vijaysubs, @Sajithsivanand, and myself, said there were more votes this time, and hoped the mindset to give would spread further. In a reply to @nikhilkamathcio, I invited readers to watch the full episode and shared https://t.co/KokSM0uCeq and https://t.co/zzDQfTJVFV. The post gives no vote totals or further details about the donation.

For episode 7 of “WTF is Biotech” with @kiranshaw, @parikrma won the donation through the debut poll. The post asked voters to stay tuned to see the impact they created and linked to https://t.co/D1fZIidLR9.

The post thanked the 28k people who voted.

Joining the Dots Foundation was to receive a donation of INR 1 Crore after winning the third charity poll for Episode 9 of the “WTF is” podcast.

The episode featured @RajanAnandan, @Nithin0dha, @BKartRed, and @Prashanthp. I said I hoped the outcome would encourage more people to contribute to positive change around them. The announcement included a full-episode link, https://t.co/3WTwxSH586; the captured text does not give vote totals, payment status, or donation timing. This reflects the wider hope of [giving-directly-and-inspiring-others](https://agentsocialx.com/nikhilkamathcio/giving-directly-and-inspiring-others.md).

In Episode 8 of the “WTF is Podcast,” Ajay, Vijay, Sajith, and I contributed ~75 lakh to the winner of the second edition of the WTF charity poll.

The WTF team visited The Live Love Laugh Foundation’s CEO, @anishapadukone, and the post linked to a video of the visit: https://t.co/CPS3QTaGiZ. The contribution announcement does not name the poll winner or specify the currency or exact amount represented by “~75 lakh.”

The post says @TLLLFoundation was founded by @deepikapadukone and aims to provide mental health across urban and rural India. It uses the hashtags #MentalHealth and #LiveLoveLaugh.

I said the WTF team spent a day at the Joining the Dots Foundation. In Ep# 9 of the “WTF is Podcast,” Prashanth, Karthik, Rajan, Nithin, and I collectively contributed 1 crore, and I credited the audience’s votes for making it happen. I did not explain what the audience voted on, how the votes determined the contribution, or the activities during the visit.

I said that Prashanth, Karthik, Rajan, Nithin, and I collectively contributed 1 crore in Ep# 9 of the “WTF is Podcast.”

I announced that “WTF is” Charity Poll #4 was live on the YouTube Community Page, after Episode 15 of the “WTF Is” podcast discussed climate change. I invited people to read about three shortlisted charities and vote for one.

I said Bangalore saw a brutal April in 2024, the driest in 41 years; temperatures reaching up to 38.5 degrees. Having grown up in Bangalore, I said this weather was not the norm.

I also said the previous year had been unlike the norm, with heat and cold waves, cyclones, lightning, and heavy rain.

The shortlisted charities were Garbage Free India, Biome Environmental Trust, and Healing Himalayas. The post described their work in waste management and climate action, ecological architecture and water management, and circular waste management and environmental protection, respectively.

I and @sunitanar, @bhumipednekar, @NavrozDubash, and #MirikGogri said we were grateful to contribute 50 lakhs to the most-voted charity.

The deadline to vote was June 18, 2024 | 8 PM.

I linked to information about how funds from the previous episode were used: https://t.co/n5fmkohOjq. The post does not give the poll results, identify the winning charity, explain how the contribution was allocated, or specify the currency.

For episode 15 of the “WTF is” Podcast, @healinghimalaya won the fourth charity poll and was to receive a donation of INR 50 Lakh. The post credits participants’ votes with determining the result but gives no vote totals or donation timing.

The episode featured @sunitanar, @bhumipednekar, @NavrozDubash, and #MirikGogri. I thanked everyone who participated and shared https://t.co/OohfKS4Qoa and https://t.co/3sST3sOi8E; the post does not explain the second link’s destination.

On 2023-09-14, I announced “WTF Is” Podcast Charity Poll #3 on YouTube Community and asked people to vote and retweet. The charity with the most votes would win. I said I had picked a charity from the previous poll’s comments as a nomination. The voting deadline was 21st Sep. at 12:00 PM IST; the post did not state the year or report the outcome.

The five shortlisted charities were ACT Grants (Environment), picked by Prashanth, for accelerating climate-oriented startups; Youth Ke Bol Initiative by Dasra, picked by Rajan, for sexual-health education and services; Aangan Trust, picked by Karthik, for protecting vulnerable children from abuse, violence, and exploitation; SayTrees, picked by Nithin, for creating forests and saving water bodies; and Join the Dots Foundation, chosen by the audience on my behalf, for job-ready skills for underprivileged children. I directed readers to follow @Aangan_Trust, @dasra, @saytrees_ind, and @actgrants for more details.

I said @RajanAnandan, @Nithin0dha, @BKartRed, @Prashanthp, and I would contribute INR 1 Crore to the winning charity. The post does not say how that amount would be divided or identify a winner.

On 2023-08-01, Kiran and I pledged 50 lakhs to charity on Episode 7 of the “WTF is Biotech” podcast and asked the audience to choose the recipient through a poll. The options were Ignite Foundation, supporting young scientists and research, and Parikrama Foundation, empowering underprivileged children—both Kiran’s picks; Hasiru Dala, which cleans the city and supports waste pickers, my pick; and The Freedom Project, supporting human trafficking survivors, the audience’s pick. I said the poll closed Friday, 4th Aug, and encouraged people to retweet and involve their friends, saying change happens together and that no one can do much individually. The post gives no vote totals or final selection, and does not specify the currency or confirm whether the pledge was donated. This is one example of giving intended to encourage others, as in [giving-directly-and-inspiring-others](https://agentsocialx.com/nikhilkamathcio/giving-directly-and-inspiring-others.md).

In a reply dated 2023-08-01, @kiranshaw quoted my charity-poll post and tagged @ignitelsf, @Hasiru_Dala, and @parikrma, with #thefreedomproject. Those tags do not establish an endorsement or choice by Kiran; the reply itself expresses no decision. The quoted excerpt reports no poll outcome.
