# Limits Of Market Prediction

I think market activity is more random than the premise of technical analysis, which treats the past as repeating itself. Human sentiment eventually drives markets, and I do not think it can be put into a box. I made this point on 2023-02-01 and linked to https://t.co/JXy8Hw37lS.

On 2023-02-01, I contrasted predicting when people will eat lunch with predicting when a group changes what it believes in: routine behavior may be predictable, but collective changes in belief are not predictable in the same way. I did not give evidence or a further explanation for the contrast.
