I find the economics of US debt disturbing. One possibility I raised is that inflation and the dollar losing its position as the global currency could allow the dollar to devalue, potentially helping the US service its debt in the future. I called this counterintuitive given the effort to retain the dollar’s status as the global currency of trade, and asked what others thought. This is a qualitative possibility, not a calculation or prediction, and relates to cracks in dollar dominance.
