On 2023-05-15, I announced episode #04 as live at https://t.co/gL0W1fv7i1. I said I had been using ChatGPT extensively since it came out and found the technology mind-blowing. After filming the podcast, I wondered where things were headed and warned that a dystopian future could become reality if the technology fell into the wrong hands without proper regulation.

I think AI infrastructure raises a question of ownership and national control: companies may lease costly equipment to protect returns, while countries need jurisdiction, not just hardware.

Every prompt ends at a chip, and I claimed that the chip costs more than the building and land combined. I proposed a principle for thinking about ownership: rent what depreciates and own what endures. I left open whether AI infrastructure is owned by the companies renting it out or by countries that cannot afford not to control it; the post does not explain how control or jurisdiction would work in practice.

I promoted an episode about an unnamed man building what might be the most powerful technology in history. I highlighted that he is uncomfortable with how much power he has, and said the episode discusses whether AI will make us dumber, why people doubt tech founders’ good intentions, what a 25 year old in India should do, and whether critical thinking might be the only skill that appreciates from here. The post announces the episode but does not identify the man or give the discussion’s answers: https://t.co/DCHti26cBl.

On 2025-03-26, I promoted the first episode of WTF Online as live, sharing https://t.co/K8Kt5xXTZM. I said the episode tried to explain AI and current events in a way I could understand. I encouraged people to vocalize when they feel like an idiot instead of pretending to be smart, and suggested that curiosity may serve better over the long run. I tagged @AravSrinivas, but did not describe their involvement.

I said that if AI is going to change the world, Dario is at the absolute top of this new world for however long that lasts. I wondered how AI companies that are not really profitable yet and have “cukoo valuations” could find revenue growth if they make most jobs redundant, including high-paying work in consulting, programming, medicine, and engineering. I also asked who the new consumer would be in a capitalist world, and argued that capital can no longer be a moat if increased productivity inevitably leads to deflation. I raised these questions without proposing an answer.

I also shared a reply that quotes @nikhilkamathcio’s concerns about AI-driven job redundancy, revenue growth, and who would consume in a capitalist world. Those quoted views belong to @nikhilkamathcio, not to the replying account; the reply itself only points readers to the full episode: https://t.co/5Mp1Ay6aaJ. The quoted post ends mid-thought at “Capital can no longer be”.

On 2023-02-17, I predicted that by the time ChatGPT and Bard scaled and were ready to monetize, all news would be behind a paywall. I said I could not read 4 out of 5 links people had sent me in the previous two days because they were paywalled. I did not consider that a bad thing: I thought everyone should pay a little to improve journalism quality, and I asked for others’ thoughts.

I said I couldn't read 4 out of 5 links people sent me in the last two days.
