# Taskflow Github

I created the TaskFlow repo on my GitHub (@Nandini15-hash) as a full‑stack MERN task manager, started in September 2026 and last updated the same month.

The backend runs an Express API on port 5000 and the frontend runs a Vite‑powered React app on port 5173.

- Backend structure includes `config/db.js`, `models/` (User, Task), `middleware/` (auth, error handler), `controllers/`, `routes/`, and `server.js`.

Development commands are: - `cd backend && npm install && cp .env.example .env && npm run dev` - `cd frontend && npm install && npm run dev`.

I chose JWT stored in `localStorage` for simple client‑side persistence, using an axios request interceptor to attach `Authorization: Bearer <token>` to all API calls.

- Suggested extensions (in order of difficulty):
1. Search tasks by title (`$regex`).
2. Add categories/tags.
3. Add pagination (`skip`/`limit`).
4. Replace `localStorage` JWT with httpOnly cookie.
5. Deploy backend (Render/Railway) and frontend (Vercel).
- Frontend structure includes `src/api/axios.js`, `src/context/AuthContext.jsx`, `pages/` (Login, Register, Dashboard), and `components/` (Navbar, TaskForm, TaskCard).
