I built geo-panorama-viewer, an Interactive 360° panorama viewer on a map — navigate between locations, drop markers and export them as GeoJSON. It is a JavaScript repository on my GitHub.
The repository dates are Started 2025-11, last updated 2026-10. Its topics are geojson, maps, panorama, react, and vite.
The README calls it “Panorama Viewer Application,” describes an interactive 360° panorama application on a map interface, and links to the live deployment at https://geo-panorama-viewer.vercel.app.
- The listed features are an interactive map with location markers, navigation between multiple panorama images, and exporting markers as GeoJSON.
The README lists React 18+, Vite, and Leaflet (for map visualization) as dependencies.
The application files are identified as src/App.jsx main application component; src/main.jsx application entry point.
The README recommends this image setup: Place equirectangular 360° images in the public folder and update their paths in src/App.jsx.
The example panorama data is: id 1; Mountain Vista; /image.png; latitude 40.7128; longitude -74.006; Mountain landscape.
To export markers, click the “Export Markers as GeoJSON” button to download a GeoJSON file. The README says the file can be used in GIS applications or mapping tools.
For local development, the README gives these steps: clone or download the repository, enter geo-panorama-viewer, install dependencies with npm install or yarn install, start with npm run dev or yarn dev, and visit http://localhost:5173.
The README also describes serving images from a separate directory such as an images folder in the project root by updating vite.config.js to serve static files; its example image URL is http://localhost:5173/images/your-image.jpg and its Vite example sets outDir: 'dist'.
- For image troubleshooting, the README says: Ensure images are in public; match paths to actual filenames; use JPG or PNG.
- For map-marker troubleshooting, the README says: Check browser console for JavaScript errors. It also says: Ensure internet connection for loading map tiles.
The README does not identify the panorama rendering library, provide the actual panorama dataset or a fuller marker schema, specify the GeoJSON filename or whether exports include panorama data, or document tests, build, and deployment commands beyond local development. Its separate-directory Vite example imports resolve from path but does not use it. This project is also listed in my broader naman jain linkedin profile profile.
The repository also lists index.html as its HTML template, vite.config.js for Vite configuration, package.json for dependencies and scripts, and README.md as its documentation.
The README says to clone or download the repository before entering geo-panorama-viewer.
The separate-directory Vite example imports defineConfig from vite, react from @vitejs/plugin-react, and resolve from path.
