# Skillsync App

I built SkillSync, a full-stack AI-powered web application that analyzes, scores, and optimizes resumes against job descriptions. Its documented flow connects a React frontend to a Spring Boot API, PostgreSQL, and Gemini.

My skillsync-app repository is JavaScript, 1 star.

My repository was Started 2026-02, last updated 2026-06.

I describe the product features as PDF resume upload; ATS match score with job description; Gemini API resume optimization; JWT authentication; responsive UI with animations; frontend and backend deployed.

My documented architecture is Browser to React frontend on Vercel to REST API with JWT to Spring Boot backend on Render to PostgreSQL via JPA/Hibernate; backend also connects to Gemini API.

My documented authentication flow is Email and password login; backend generates JWT; browser stores token in localStorage; Axios interceptor attaches token; Spring Security validates JWT on every request.

My Axios interceptor behavior is Treats /auth/login and /customers/register as authentication routes; adds Bearer token only for other routes when token exists and is neither undefined nor null.

My frontend stack is React (Vite), Axios, React Router, CSS Animations, Vercel Deployment.

My backend stack is Spring Boot, Spring Security (JWT), Hibernate / JPA, PostgreSQL, Render Deployment.

My Gemini API uses are Resume Optimization; Match Score Analysis.

The frontend uses Axios for API requests. On login, the example stores the returned token in localStorage; the interceptor reads it and conditionally adds a bearer authorization header. The backend's Spring Security validates JWTs.

```
const data = await loginCustomer(form);
localStorage.setItem("token", data.token);
```

My documented backend structure is config/SecurityConfig.java; config/JwtAuthFilter.java; controller/, service/, repository/, model/, application.properties.

The README lists separate frontend and backend deployments, and links to the backend repository. It also documents local development commands and example environment configuration; the captured configuration uses placeholders rather than actual secret or database values.

My frontend local address is http://localhost:5173.

My backend local address is http://localhost:8080.

My unauthenticated registration and login endpoints are POST /customers/register unauthenticated for registration; POST /auth/login unauthenticated for login and JWT.

My authenticated upload and match endpoints are Authenticated POST /resume/upload for upload; authenticated POST /resume/match for ATS score.

My resume optimization endpoint is Authenticated POST /resume/{id}/optimize for resume optimization.

My README's screenshot section headings are Homepage; Resume Upload; Match Score; Optimized Resume.

My listed future improvements are Resume history dashboard; download optimized resume as PDF; AI suggestions with scoring breakdown; refresh-token authentication; CI/CD pipeline.

My SkillSync frontend is deployed at https://skillsync-app-coral.vercel.app.

My SkillSync backend is deployed at https://skillsync-ai-zx81.onrender.com.

My separate SkillSync backend repository is https://github.com/melonmusk20/skillsync-backend.git.

My frontend's VITE_API_BASE_URL is https://skillsync-ai-zx81.onrender.com.

I start my backend locally with `mvn spring-boot:run`.
