In late September 2026 I published three LinkedIn posts covering three Indian market issues: the aspirational pull of Apple devices, governance tensions around Tata Sons and the RBI‑mandated listing, and a debate on the Indian Government’s proposal to levy a Merchant Discount Rate on UPI transactions above ₹2,000.

Tata Companies have long enjoyed a “governance premium”.

Tata Sons' Chairman N Chandrasekaran’s reappointment has been challenged by Tata Trusts.

The RBI mandate of listing of Tata Sons has also emerged as another fault line.

Processing over 800 million transactions a day, UPI is globally recognized as a fintech marvel.

Apple brand pull sometimes defies explanation. Even as one hears of the occasional story of a young man selling off his grandmother’s jewellery to buy the latest iPhone, the reality in markets like India is that many go to great lengths to get hold of an Apple product‑be it a Mac Book, an iPhone, AirPods, iPad, or an Apple Watch.
