On 15 October 2026 I posted a series of X replies and a longer statement reflecting on my early‑stage backing philosophy, market observations in India, and a few personal notes about founders.

It was a privilege to have backed @mchetanreddy500 and Vicchar back in 2021 from First Cheque when they were building Burncal.

The lesson I keep re‑learning WRT to consumers in India is that price is king.

For many many categories, reducing price by even 10% increases TAM by 50-100%.

A brand I know - simply put signage outside their stores announcing the price and the footfalls doubled.

You never regret backing a BITSian serial founder team.

Can never say if it's idea number 2, 3, 4 or 5 that will work - but if the team sticks at it - you will eventually have a winner 😜

Like I told Chetan a few months back - on the face of it - they had no right to win at Confido but they are winning anyways 🤟
