I proposed integrating a good segmentation system into AI Studio to improve mask generation. Two possible paths are available: building a custom segmentation module or wrapping an existing model such as SAM2 or SAM3.

Open questions remain about which approach to adopt, the performance metrics (e.g., mask IoU, processing time) that define a “good” mask, and the impact on pipeline resources.
- SAM2 or SAM3 integration: wrap the pre‑trained Segment Anything Model series and plug it into the existing workflow.
