# Open Source Residual Value In Changing Work

In a post prompted by a recent manufacturing conversation, I wrote: “People unfamiliar with OSS and the residual value of tasks/actions/objects will struggle with coming change.” I did not specify what OSS means, what change is coming, or what residual value refers to.
