# Metro Demo

I created the Metro_Demo repository on my GitHub (@Kathir18M) as a TypeScript frontend and Python backend conceptual regional transit simulation for Thanjavur and Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. The project started in 2026‑10 and was last updated in 2026‑10.

Repository name: Metro_Demo – a repo on @Kathir18M's GitHub.

Started 2026-10, last updated 2026-10.

Phase 1 establishes a responsive dark foundation, Phase 2 adds an illustrative dashboard and nine conceptual corridors, and Phase 3 adds an interactive schematic transit map with station selection, search, corridor filters, zoom, pan, and direct‑neighbor details. Phase 4 adds user‑controlled demonstration trains that move along configured schematic corridor paths, and Phase 5 adds a smart journey planner with Dijkstra pathfinding, transfer identification, and map highlighting.

This project is a concept simulation, not an officially approved or operational transit network. Routes, stations, train movements, and service statistics must not be represented as official or real‑time information.

Frontend: React, Vite, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion, Zustand, React Router, and Lucide React.

Backend: Python, FastAPI, and Pydantic (via FastAPI).

Tests: Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and pytest.

Deployment targets: Vercel for the frontend; compatible Python hosting for the backend if an API is needed.

Node.js 20.19+ or 22.12+ and npm.
