I posted a LinkedIn commentary in early October 2026 about Amazon Music India's latest advertising campaign, which uses a “sound off / sound on” creative device where the silent first segment suggests one emotion (X) and the added audio flips the perception to a different emotion (Y).
The template is explicitly described as “Sound off = X, sound on = Y.”
Amazon Music India's new campaign involves a creative device where the first part plays without any sound and this makes it seem like one kind of emotion by the people involved.
When sound is added to it, the emotion completely changes.
The basic idea is not very different from Spotify India's new campaign (agency: Leo Burnett) series which focuses on music as a driving force to do household chores (which was the specific point inspired by the older JioSaavn campaign https://lnkd.in/g67dWysD).
Amazon Music's earlier ads (the antakshari one) was by the agency Manja, but I couldn't find out which agency did these new ads.
I decided to use this silent‑first, sound‑later structure because it creates a twist that highlights music’s power to reshape perception, pairing contrasting emotions to make the reveal memorable. I also produced a Hindi‑language cut featuring a junior employee replying “Respectfully…” to a befuddled boss, adding local humor.
