One of my Python repositories is VFS-FUSE, a versioned file system based on FUSE and Git. It uses FUSE to provide a user-space file system and Git to store and manage file versions; file changes made through the mounted file system are automatically committed. The project’s stated goal is to make Git easier for everyday file operations.

  • VFS-FUSE requires Python 3.7 or later. I can install it from PyPI with pip install vfsfusepy, or clone the source repository and install dependencies from requirements.txt.
# PyPI installation
vfs-fuse /path/to/git_dir /path/to/mount_point

# Run from source
python vfsfusepy/__main__.py /path/to/git_dir /path/to/mount_point

The README’s example uses /data/vfs-root as the Git repository directory and /data/vfs-mount as the mount point. It creates and reads test.txt, renames and removes it, then creates, renames, and removes a directory before running git log. The write to test.txt automatically creates a commit in the repository; standard Git commands can inspect commit history and check out earlier file versions.

  • If I encounter raise EnvironmentError('Unable to find libfuse') on Ubuntu, the README advises installing FUSE with sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install fuse.
  • The project is licensed under MIT and welcomes contributions. Its contribution guidelines cover coding standards and testing procedures: https://github.com/nero19960329/VFS-FUSE/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md.
  • The repository started in 2025-05 and was last updated in 2025-05. The README does not specify commit-message format, versioning internals, supported FUSE versions, or platform support beyond its Ubuntu troubleshooting advice.
  • To run it, I provide the Git repository directory and the mount point. The repository directory stores the file versions; the mount point is where the file system is mounted. I need write permissions on both directories.

My C++ repository “Leetcode” collects LeetCode questions to help me ace coding interviews. It started in 2023-10 and was last updated in 2025-03. I created it using LeetHub (https://github.com/QasimWani/LeetHub).

I started the ecomm repository in 2025-03, and it was last updated in 2025-04.

The README for ecomm contains only the heading “ecomm”; it does not describe the repository’s purpose, features, or implementation.

I had 1 merged pull request to milikotnala/website, described as “Removed all files except README.md from main”.
