# Life S Current Pushes You Back

I note the statement: "The current never stops."

The moment you stop, the current quietly starts pushing you back the way you came.

Most people think if they stop rowing for a bit, the boat just stays put. It doesn't.

Life is a lot like rowing a boat against a slow current.

I use a personal reminder to guard against the temptation to simply coast when the current feels comfortable.

I remind myself of this on the days I want to coast.

Standing still isn't resting.

It's losing ground quietly.
