RoadCast is my weather‑aware truck routing platform that evaluates three routes using forecast conditions at each checkpoint’s estimated arrival time and recommends the safest path before considering travel time.
The repository is written in JavaScript.
The frontend is deployed at https://roadcast-truck-routing.salty-macaw-4898.chatgpt.site.
The backend API is hosted at https://weather-aware-truck-routing-beige.vercel.app.
Wind thresholds are <25 mph, 25–34, 35–44, 45–54, ≥55 mph.
Rain thresholds are <0.10 in/hr, 0.10–0.25, 0.25–0.50, 0.50–1.00, >1.00.
Snow thresholds are <0.5 in/hr, 0.5–1.0, 1.0–2.0, 2.0–3.0, >3.0.
The test suite reports 9 frontend tests.
The test suite reports 7 Django tests.
The platform uses Open‑Meteo hourly forecasts, Leaflet + React‑Leaflet for map visualisation, and OSRM for route geometry, with a note that production should replace OSRM with a truck‑aware routing provider.
