Personal Expense Tracker Cli

From github.com

I built the Personal Expense Tracker CLI to let me log daily expenses from the terminal, storing everything in a local SQLite file (expenses.db) without any external dependencies.

The repository name is personal-expense-tracker-cli.

It lives on my GitHub account @Eshaj20.

The project is written in Python and requires Python 3.8+.

Development started in 2025‑10 and the last update was also in 2025‑10.

I chose SQLite for simple, file‑based persistence, creating expenses.db automatically on first run.

The CLI accepts dates in YYYY‑MM‑DD or DD‑MM‑YYYY formats but stores them internally as ISO YYYY‑MM‑DD.

Category is optional and defaults to uncategorized for quick entry.

Expense amounts must be positive to avoid nonsensical entries.
