In my October 2026 X thread I laid out a simple framework for evaluating startup ideas based on the alignment of a new trend with a shift in how people live.

So when I look at a company, I think about two things. Is there a new trend carrying it? And has something changed in how people live that makes now the right time?

- Identify a *new trend* that can carry the company.

- Assess whether recent changes in how people live make the present the “right time.”
