In early October 2026 I posted a series of X comments reflecting on the state of LLM‑agent orchestration. The consensus was that LangChain had become an over‑engineered abstraction for most use‑cases, and that hand‑rolled loops were now the norm. I recommended trying the lightweight tool agno, which abstracts away plumbing while still offering declarative stages, dependency management, and observability.
I always felt LangChain was an overkill.
Most agents do a good job of hand rolling the code when needed.
Check out agno. Have been using it, and it beautifully hides and abstracts out all the plumbing.
