I track Shopify category rankings and growth as a way to understand how the platform’s product mix is changing.

I noted that food and beverage are the third and fourth biggest categories on Shopify; the post did not say which category holds each rank.

The post stated that food and beverage had a combined GMV of $708 billion, without specifying the measurement period.

On October 27, 2025, I said it would be interesting to see Shopify’s top categories in 2025 and how much they had grown since 2024. On November 17, I said I was excited to see the breakdown. Neither post gave category rankings or growth figures; the October post linked https://t.co/aL7W3pUVPJ.
