# Selling Through Ai Chat

On June 7, 2025, I called a linked item a “Huge ChatGPT update for Ecommerce” and shared https://t.co/0JSHmnHK0p. I did not describe what the update was or what effects it might have.

On September 30, 2025, I replied to @RaoSumukh, “This mixed with ChatGPT commerce.. Ecom is getting so good”. I was positive about ecommerce in connection with ChatGPT commerce, but the post does not explain what “This” referred to or what developments prompted my reaction.

On October 2, 2025, I shared the headline “Shopify's New ChatGPT Update Will Change Ecommerce Forever” and a link. The capture does not include details of the update or evidence for the headline’s claim, so I cannot establish what changed or what its effects might be.

On October 26, 2025, I wrote that Temu had recently been pushing hard on ads from avatar profiles, added 👀, and shared https://t.co/bk3A4A2k2U. I did not specify what the avatar profiles or ads were, or provide details beyond the link.

On October 27, 2025, replying to @ariesnotebook, I pointed to “ad from discovery tab in https://t.co/q7HIC41ucj”. The claim that Temu had been pushing ads from avatar profiles belonged to @ariesnotebook; my reply identified an ad from a discovery tab but did not describe it further.

On September 16, 2025, replying to @genghizkahn, I said I sometimes see ChatGPT browsing something for results, so I would say yes. The captured reply does not identify what “it” refers to or what question I was answering.

On September 24, 2025, I predicted that AI agents would become a “silent sales team”: people would not only browse websites, and products would need to be discoverable through chatbots. I warned businesses to adapt or slowly disappear, but did not specify which agents or what changes businesses should make.

On September 29, 2025, I posted “ChatGPT commerce checkout 👀” while quoting @patrickc. The announcements and opinions were @patrickc’s: they said OpenAI was launching commerce in ChatGPT with Instant Checkout powered by Stripe; Stripe and OpenAI had codeveloped the Agentic Commerce Protocol; and Stripe was launching Shared Payment Tokens, an API for agentic payments. @patrickc viewed these as foundations for major changes in how people purchase over the internet. The post did not give launch dates, availability, technical details, or evidence of the effects.

On December 2, 2025, I wrote “Shop App ads 👀” while quoting @tobi, who said, “Hi Chat and Gemini. Nice to hang out with you.” The capture includes a link but gives no details about the ads or what I meant by my brief comment.

On January 13, 2026, I shared the headline “Shopify Just Became the Commerce Layer of AI” and a shortened link. The capture gives no linked-article details or evidence for the headline, so I cannot tell what “the Commerce Layer of AI” means from this post alone.

On March 24, 2026, I reacted to @mcfazeli’s post by saying, “This is gonna be huge.” @mcfazeli claimed that starting that week, millions of Shopify merchants in the US could sell in ChatGPT with their product detail pages, checkout, and customizations, without extra setup. The post characterized AI as a new front door to commerce and Shopify as what is behind it everywhere; these were @mcfazeli’s claims, not implementation details or results I reported.

On May 29, 2026, I wrote, “Game is game. He knows his target avatar,” while quoting @PaulYacoubian’s claim that someone was adding AI women to sell surplus heavy equipment. My comment does not identify who “bro” referred to or independently verify the quoted claim.
