I believe disagreement is more valuable when people treat one another respectfully. Rudeness can weaken an argument and make the person expressing it look bad; I encourage people to explain their views in a friendly way and reciprocate when someone wants a conversation.
On January 4, 2025, replying to @nntaleb and addressing Bryan (@bryan_johnson), I asked why @nntaleb was being rude while Bryan explained his points in a friendly and nice way. I said the rudeness weakened @nntaleb’s points and made him look bad, and advised him not to behave that way in the future.
On January 4, 2025, replying to @LoonyLegislator, I called an analogy far-fetched and said Bryan was showing good intentions and wanted a conversation. I asked why the other person would not reciprocate, especially on a topic involving data and science, and said the conversation could be interesting and valuable. The captured reply does not identify the analogy or the topic.
