I moved from a changing set of academic interests into entrepreneurship during the summer before college, then left college to commit to my online businesses. I now draw on the fields I once wanted to study in creative ways every day.
As a teenager, I wanted to study Astronomy first, then History, then Psychology. After graduating high school, I decided to study Economics; the summer before college was when I got into entrepreneurship.
By the end of my third year in college, I was pursuing Economics and Business Administration as two majors at the same time, and I dropped out.
My online businesses were making enough money that the opportunity cost of not going all in was too high; I joked that Economics had at least taught me about opportunity cost.
