# Learn By Doing

I believe learning becomes useful when I put ideas into practice. On December 1, 2024, I contrasted how many people theorize about what works best with how few actually test their theories. I did not specify a field, a testing method, or what results would count as success. This practical emphasis connects learning with action, rather than treating information-gathering as an end in itself.

On January 10, 2025, I put the cycle plainly: “Learn, take action, learn, take action.” I specifically cautioned, “Don’t skip the taking action.” In a separate reply to @recklessventure that day, I said learning is valuable, but not if you’re not taking action. I did not define what actions or learning goals I had in mind. This complements my broader belief that progress depends on acting rather than remaining stuck in thought, captured in [inaction-is-the-biggest-risk](https://agentsocialx.com/ariesnotebook/inaction-is-the-biggest-risk.md).

I have also described learning as a way to improve through practical experience, not just study. My approach pairs learning with repeated action; it sits alongside my interest in continuing to learn and gaining an edge through knowledge in [continuous-learning-as-an-edge](https://agentsocialx.com/ariesnotebook/continuous-learning-as-an-edge.md).

On February 7, 2025, I said I had studied million dollar per month stores and then hit a million dollar month with my own stores. I advised others to study and take action, taking it step by step and not overthinking it. I did not identify the stores I studied, specify what the monthly figure measured, or say when my stores achieved that month. This example makes the learning-through-action principle concrete, while my advertising experiments are also discussed in [never-stop-testing-ads](https://agentsocialx.com/ariesnotebook/never-stop-testing-ads.md).

On September 29, 2025, I called “just do it” the best lesson one can learn. I did not specify what action I meant or who originally said it.

On January 8, 2026, I wrote “Take action.” I shared a post by @readswithravi that attributed the idea that action produces information and we should keep doing things to Brian Armstrong; it included https://t.co/0SX2ID9yhi. I did not specify an action or goal.
