# Doge And Government Efficiency

I have followed the Department of Government Efficiency through brief posts and reactions, but these captures leave much of the surrounding context unexplained.

On November 8, 2024 at 02:40 UTC, I wrote, “The prophecy is unfolding,” and included a link while quoting @chamath’s post, which read “D.O.G.E.” and also included a link. I did not explain what prophecy I meant or what @chamath’s acronym referred to.

On November 10, 2024 at 20:02 UTC, I posted “The Department of Government Efficiency” and included “DOGE” with https://t.co/j6CKB0AgLR. The captured post does not explain what the link leads to or add context about the department.

On December 2, 2024 at 03:14 UTC, I shared an @nypost headline saying Bernie Sanders vowed to support DOGE in one cost-cutting area and quoting him as saying, “Elon Musk is right.” I added, “I always liked Bernie.” The headline’s claims are @nypost’s, not claims I independently made, and my post does not specify the cost-cutting area.

On February 4, 2025 at 04:46 UTC, I quoted @anothercohen, who described a software engineer working with Elon Musk on DOGE to reduce what they called the country’s “excessive spending problem.” @anothercohen also called the person “Unfathomably based” and included a link. Those descriptions are @anothercohen’s claims and opinion; I reacted, “This is cool.” The engineer was not named, and the post gives no details about the work or any spending reductions.

On March 23, 2025, replying to @MarioNawfal’s post about giving money away for fun, I said DOGE was trying to save “wasteful tax payer money,” but that this effort robs people of their hard-earned income. I added that I did not know Tim and thought he did not think through the things he said; the post does not identify Tim further or clarify what “it” refers to.
