# College Tuition Costs

I have noted how college costs can differ substantially depending on whether a student qualifies for in-state or out-of-state tuition.

On November 12, 2025, I said the same school can cost 3x more depending on whether a student is in state or out of state.

I called $31,000 a year on average “wild,” but my post did not identify what the average measures or which students or schools it covers.
